Snoring can be disturbing at times – but that’s all that it is – disturbing. When we are talking about – sleep apnea – things look completely different. Sleep apnea occurs when our breathing pathway gets blocked through our tongue pressing our soft tissues against the back of our throat blocking the free air flow into our lungs. The lack of air arriving in our lungs eventually leads our brains to wake us up – let us gasp for air and fall asleep again. This can happen more than 100 times in a single night without us even noticing.
Having sleep apnea can have a serious impact on our health such as increasing the risk of getting a:
1. Heart disease
2. Heart attack
5. and many more
Luckily there are many things that you can do on your own to get rid of sleep apnea such as:
1. Having a diet
2. Changing sleep positions
3. Avoiding alcohol
